Description

Thanks a lot for your care of Babel. I do not often do 2D and your support was most encouraging. Here's another effort. Thank you Nikolay

Was this done with pastel? Love your take on Biblical themes, Nikolay.

This is really wonderful, Nikolay. I love the building shapes and colors. You should do more 2D, you are very good.

Beautiful image! Is it on paper and scanned or all digital?

Интересная Библейская серия... Будет ли продолжение? A contrast between such a dramatic subject and a sketchy painting technique ads a perception of something everyday-ish and small in human existence -- as seen from "above".

Truly you are a talented person! Your 2D works are wonderous to my eyes. I like your rendetion of the ancient very much. I too am curious if these are all digital or scanned paintings? Either way, they are beautifully done!

This is astoundingly rich! I love your 2D work. There is so much to say about this, but what strikes me the most is the organic warmth you convey perfectly here.

what fascinating ambiguity: It looks like an arc, but it also looks like a crowded ancient city (small). Either way, it's compact and intensified, and met by stormy clouds with a bit of light piercing through. I love the smudges in the clouds, as if you made them with big smudges of charcoal. And I like the pathways up to the ark, it's set on high ground and you made the approach-ways feel like bits of channeled light. But most of all, I like the freedom of your lines, and the dabs of blue, and your spilling grays. Whether this was done by hand or in software, you got a very painterly feel. Fine work, it has a free-handed feel and it definitely feels like an impending storm. (Noah, I assume.) The clouds are big & bulbous...
