Description

The Writer's Gallery has a challenge every month and this was my entry. I tied for first with 3 other people and we all get to choose a theme for the next challenge. Check it out--it's lots of fun!! Alone In The Dark Going to bed Alone in the dark Yet again Empty house Except for My body Aching yearning Wondering If I'll ever be held again Lying there Thinking dreaming Of impossible dreams Lying there Sometimes tears Roll down my cheeks Then the sun Comes up And life is brighter And all is well In the world And I rejoice Simple banal Silly unlikely Perhaps Then night comes Again and I am Alone in the dark 2/28/09 scroll all the way down to see the entries **alone in the dark challenge

lovely Marilyn, you really have a way. The rhythms are little sighs & breaths, like you're giving pieces of your heart with each group. And it's delightful how you finally wake to the day, and then...back to the night. You say a lot in a few words, the Japanese masters would love you. Congratulations on tying for first. I'm embarrassed to say I never got there because I just was swamped, and now I feel like a heel. But I'll go there and read them if they're still there, and maybe I'll enter something next time. Beautiful work, and fitting photo too.
