UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Excellent POV of your big big country, nice HDR, not OTT, very subtle.

Makes the Kansas trees look frosted.

Very nice vista and history, Bill. Would be nice to see a summer shot, too.

Gorgeous vista! The colors are so rich. Excellent work!

Yep. Zoom is best. You are quite right and what amazing winter/autumn colours... It's so good to here you have Federal Protected land too. Afraid that doesn't happen here... Can't built fast enough. 1,000,000 houses empty! Our illustrious Government wants to build 1,000,000 more!! Go figure... Anyway, that's besides the point! Stunning picture. Way ahead of me on landscapes now! Got a shed I can live in? Rob.

Great shot Bill. Whats this in the lower right corner, an old matress?
bmac62
Response to junge1. Item in the lower right corner is a wooden railing around the park observation deck :) Place was wonderfully clean.

I very much enjoy your style of photography and story telling/journalism... A few years back PBS aired a documentary by Ken Burns on Lewis & Clark...

Marvelous

The frontier still exists here and her. Glad you captured the natural view!

A very big big country!

Very nice piece, especially for the foreground trees & how they cut into the picture, and for the old-growth timber on the other side, because it's softer and seems almost like a mirage. And the river's angle is fine too, as it cuts through the foreground and winds around at end, taking our eye back into the shot we were about to leave. More of your fine nature captures from the area you live in. And (as others said), fine winter colors too. (People commonly think the midwest is tree-less. More common misconceptions that your gallery shatters...)

ah the hdr software....that's why the colors look so special...smile.... a wonderful shot, Bill
