Description
Captured 3/16/09, around 8:15 AM, about .50 miles/.805 kilometers from my lax lair.
Took all these shots hanging over or aiming through a chain link fence, with the sun at my back.
A zoom will greatly enhance your viewing capabilities.
The rippling, undulating petals always remind me of the edges of fitted sheets that cover a mattress.
Thankx for dropping by, and have a supple Sunday.

Harry, these shots are just stunning! Possibly my favorite shots of yours ever. I love poppies, and these captures show all the reasons!

Little beauties. They remind me of flowers crafted by an expert out of Kleenex. Nicely done...good lean on your part. Clear, clean and crisp...the three Cs :)

I have a few Red Poppies blooming now, but the Iceland Poppies are dreamy!

Very lovely poppies with wonderful details of those rippling petals! You've done really well not blowing out the whites! Nicely done!

well, in addition to your alliterations (which I see people pick up, like Marilyn), I'm discovering that you also have precise measurements of your walks & distances. I can honestly say I can't compete! I walk all the time & have no clue how close or far I am (I'm like the Vermont guy who measures distances in "looks"...) I agree with Denise, this is exquisite. Zoomed, the petal textures are truly opulent, and you showed them in various stages. And I agree with Bill, they do look a little like kleenex or maybe silk. The sun behind you helped illuminate these nicely. Beautiful captures, every one.
