Description
Captured 3/24/09, very early in the morning, within walking distance of my pragmatic place.
I'm confident that even Katherine Hepburn would give an instant approval rating to these beauties, what with the subtle array of light shadows lying demurely across their tender blooms.
Infinitely better viewed full size.
Incidentally, for the uninitiated -- which included myself before I did the research -- the calla lily is a member of the Family araceae, Genus zantedeschia, Order alismatales. The white funnel-like wrapping is called the spathe; the yellow finger-like thing in the middle is the spadix, which sometimes has little flakes of coconut on it. Not as much info as Andrea usually offers on flora and/or insects, but it should suffice in this instance.
Thankx for the look-see, and have a mostly methodical Monday.

yep, full size these are beautiful. You caught a very creamy glow. And the combination is beautiful because we get to see them as if they're posing in different poses. Your early morning shots allow your flowers to show us all their differentiations, light & shade, textural change, etc. It's a very fine light and you capture it well. These are beautiful.
