Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Nice composition Marilyn

Good shot. I have to ask, what's the view from the chair? Whatever the view, this is kind of like the favorite type of photo we all like around here, ...the 'ubiquitous' park bench.

I'd be tempted to take it home! All sorts of questions spring to mind...how did it get there? Why? Who owned it?.......etc.

Thankx, don't mind if I do... Terrific profile, contrast and shadow work in this remarkable find, Maz! Love that background gravel texture.

Right up until the sun warms that seat up and you come away with griddle marks on the backs of your legs. :-) Yup, nice comfy shot.

the kind of shot that inspires stories...(giving me ideas...) It's real photographer stuff, because it's the kind of slice of life that only photographers feel and sense; your eye finds what other eyes walk past. And it's pretty amazing against all the gravel and that big swath of emerald sea behind it. Amazing it was just there, not turned over, like it was put there by the Department of Parks. A lot of great photographers made careers from captures like these...Nice composition too, the shadow & light at the bottom, and the top of the chair just under the water line...nice visual thinking on your part.
