Description
1000 is a big number. Until a few people mentioned it, I didn’t realize I was so close. I thought about what to post, the perfect foto, the priceless words. And then I found this old foto of my son and me. He’s about 4 months old, and I’m looking better than I felt, which was highly sleep deprived!! I swear he didn’t sleep thru the night till he was 16, then I couldn’t get him up!!
The second foto is on the bank of the Merced River, near Yosemite. It was the day after our river trip—class IV rapids, 45 degree water and the ride of my life!! We walked downriver to the very end, past unrunnable rapids (though he said, “Now, if you got that just right……..!!!!”), that were so loud we couldn’t hear each other. There were walls of granite, a hundred feet high, flowers I’d never seen before. And then there was the north fork. A sweet little stream, with warm, clear water. We sat and talked about rivers, and life and the world.
This is for Jordan. He’s a free spirit, loves life to the fullest, challenges me to do things I’d otherwise never do, and he’s the best kid in the world!!

great, Marilyn, it's great to see you with your baby, and great to see you both years later. You both look great in both shots. And I love how you faded the trees in #2 into #1...nicely done! It's a great way to usher in 1000, part of your progeny & someone you're proud of and above all really love; and to show us a piece of that love here...I was imagining all the things you could show given the richness of your life...but I came here and thought: Yes. Back to the most lifelong connections. Beautiful pics, and a great achievement here; and I wish you thousands more. It's been a tremendous pleasure to come here!

Yup, bmac62, PD154 and anahata.c stole my thunder on this remarkable achievement...I was going to say the same thing, but not as eloquently. I assume you've made up for those sleepless nights since the blessed event. And, let me offer my deepest and sincerest congratulations on reaching the top of your very own Mount Everest - the Big Kilo! And you and your son are looking great! Sorry I'm late with this, but I was out of town yesterday.
