This song is definitly what is called an evergreen, I think really everybody here in Germany likes it - and it is a secret hymn to all those who are fond of planes and flying.
So I allowed myself a kind of pilot-pinup depending on it - and hope you like it.
Technical: Dynamic shawl blown up with three massive windforces. Some postwork (brushes and painting) to add the clouds to the background. The rest was left untouched. "Brazen" outfit available at RDNA.

Für beinahe dreißig Jahre errinnerte ich dieser Lied gern ... it's a decent translation, but Mey's singing in the original German is what makes this special. (Now, after those thirty years, if I could only find a recording on this side of the Atlantic sigh ... anyone? anyone? Bueller? LimeWire? {grin}) A very attractive pin-up that suggests the song's feelings of freedom and of transcending boundaries. The "retro" pilot's helmet and goggles do very well to suggest an earlier era of flying being romantic and an exception, rather than a routine, every-day experience.
