Description

An imaginary view of the inner life of a tree... Note: This image was originally made for a dear friend's memorial. Her family asked me to turn it into "something fun and filled with the light of nature". So I turned it into the cross-section of an inner-lit tree...
* * * * * * Thanks for all your wonderful visits they mean the world to me. Peace, Mark (Photoshop.) Note: This is part of the 2D forum's Floral Theme for April.

how appropriate. The circles unfolding increasing with each year; the wood grain unique to each tree. With Spring coming on it always renews me that the leaves begin their dance either in flower or a burst of fresh greenery. Turn Turn Turn.

The treeish form climbs upward like a flame. Beautiful how you can create an image as a thoughtful memorial.

Oh, I do like this. Ever do any sculpting? Reason I ask is I am always blown away by an artist who can look at a giant piece of fresh out of the quarry marble and see a magnificent statue in there and then chisel it out. There are those who can do the same thing with tree trunks and chain saws... You've got some of that vision too. Well done.

Mark this is wonderful and beyond creative my friend. Only you could share with us the view of the inner life of a tree and give it such life. It was so touching to hear her family wanted you to turn it into something fun and filled with light to share with all of us.

That tree really has a lively inner life. It is like a psychedelic celebration going on inside that tree. More power to it! ;)

This is a wonderful piece and I can see the energy of the inner energy of the tree. It reinforces for me that nothing that is ever ceases to exist. It merely changes form.

What a brilliant and thoughtful and inspiring memorial this is. I love the height that you chose. Scrolling here online, I had to stop and look around, much like the effect of wandering down a long garden path and being excited by the miracle of life around me and how it surprises me with new textures, colors, and forms. Trees always amaze me by their possibilities to live so long and take in so much history and life. This is beautiful on many levels.

Mark, your comments elude to the need for a memorial..and so I instantly wing you (and her family) strength, and solace. Your image, on the other hand, beautifully shrieks...LIFE!...and...IN NEON. And so, may any threatening tears be forgotten things, replaced instead by joy, love, exuberance, abundance, and eternal shine of spirit. We can each only hope to be so vibrantly, so elementally, so brightly, represented.
