Description

This started out with just two verses, the first and the last. Then as I looked at it, I realized it was sounding more like a country western tune. So, put on your boots, tap those toes, and sing along!!! Slam!!! I heard that door slam When you walked out You never said anything Never told me why You just left You stole my heart Broke it in half Sent it back to me In a million pieces And made me cry But I got you back Fixed you good When you weren't lookin I took YOUR heart And ripped it up So now you can't love And you can't feel All you can do Is walk around Slammin doors I walked out that same door One sunny day The world was bright Full of promise And I was grinnin from ear to ear And I didn't slam the door 4/5/09

YeeeHaaa. This one comes with sound effects. Sing it Marilyn! Thanks for tipping your hand before you began or I probably would have been feeling extra bad for you throughout... I particularly like the word picture of the final person grinnin' from ear to ear.

Brings back bad memories of my second wife when she slammed the door behind her after an argument. I don't remember my first wife doing that though. She just seethed underneath, leaving a nasty note later. But enough of that...I don't want to ruin my day thinking about it. Anyway, more fine prose from your pen, and stellar texture depicted in the rustic image, Maz.

Oooh, I like this...especially that killer last line! It's so nice to have revenge in a sense and to have the foresight to not slam doors! Superb!

yeah, terrific piece. You say it all succinctly and with real directness. It's a slap in the face, a slam of the door, and you take us through the moods, and you leave us feeling terrific in the end. Lot going on in a small space. And your photo is wonderful too. That's no 'accompaniment': It's a hard core shot all to itself, with the colors in the door, the textures all around, etc. I'll look in your earlier gallery for more...but this piece is terrific, and very uplifting, with a bang.
