Description
Captured 3/28/09, around 8 AM, .70 miles/1.127 kilometers from my recalcitrant residence.
Returning from a trip photographing fire hydrants in the general area, I came upon this helter-skelter conglomeration of outdoor tables and chairs, casting their madcap shadows to the west. Ergo, far be it from me to pass up the opportunity to snap a bizarre shadow display.
The patio sits outside a building containing five adjoining fast food places featuring ethnic food. A theater complex is further back and to the right in the top photo.
A zoom view would be most appropriate in this instance.
Incidentally, I didn't move any of the furniture...this is exactly as I found them.
Thankx for the peek, and have a transilient Thursday.

Cool find! These make really intriguing patterns, and you got lucky finding them before people had contaminated the scene...great work, Harry!

What a keen eye you have Harry and what a splendid idea. You have turned simple shadows into amazing art! Well seen and well captured. I love how you kept some of the furniture in the images too... Have a great day yourself! :)

this is the kind of thing that drove abstract painters for years: It's an abstract in photography, really; a capture of line & shadow & form & weight & air...and when seen this way, suddenly the top shot appears like a huge installation in a museum; suddenly that common site seems very odd and new. It really is strange when you look at it that way—all those odd lines, all that faceless metal, and all those shadows against the gray concrete. i like that the last 3 are closeups of a few chairs & large shadows. Only the top one is a 'group photo'. More fine montage from you. I really like the impact of all these lines & shadows on concrete. There are more? Great. I'll be watching...
