Description
I'm a big fan of sci-fi, particularly the theme of human colonization of other planets. Here's another one now, a home away from home. I think it looks better in full size, there are some details hardly visible otherwise (the original is 1600 pixels wide but unfortunately I have to decrease it for posting in the gallery).
I've done already a few images with this theme and because some of them are buried in older pages in my gallery, I put a selection together now, below.
Oh, by the way, several of these images were used by e-on and Cornucopia3D. For example, "far away from home" was used again in their latest newsletter. "I can see my house from here" was used as cover for Vue 7 Pioneer. The "Colony" was also used in several newsletters and promotions.

Fascinating place! I love the contrast between the arid landscape outside the dome and the lush surrounding inside it. Makes me admire the spirit of the people/aliens living there - what a job! I wish this was a animated , there are so many corners hidden in this view that I wish I could see... and to be able to look inside some structures... I like this a lot!

Your showing of scale is really well thought out and executed with style and panache. The colors are spot on, and the contrast between outside and outside couldn't be more stark! The curiosity created by the half seen structures is palpable! WHOA, COOL! ^__^V,, That is SO evocative of the 'Sixties Life in Space' type of paintings of the new century and the promise of living on other planets. You REALLY need to do a coffee table big book of CGI scenes!

I adore the lighting and the details are magnificent! Your composition is really brilliant. If I look at the lower 2/3rds, I see only familiar things... an earthly scene with a modern flair. But when I look only at the top third only, it's pure sci-fi, man! The way in which these 2 different worlds blend together seamlessly into one is ingenius.
