Description

Found one last fall 2008 shot lingering in my files. This is an old, rarely used country road out on the back side of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. If we are real quiet and wait long enough we may see the spirit of an old French fur trapper or a native American come wafting down this road... Ok, that's stretching it a bit, but both those parties used to frequent this part of eastern Kansas as late as the 18th and early 19th centuries. Thanks for stopping by and all your support. Bill:)

Great capture! So rich and alive. Makes me want to step right in. I can almost smell the crisp, clean air and hear the sound of my shoes on the path! I'm a sucker for a quiet country road lol.

nice fall shot, Bill, scruffy, leafy, dappled with light & shade and with what appear to be late-fall hues (because there are growing brown hues in the leaves, signs of the leaves turning all the way). Anytime we see that kind of nature, we're reminded of the native residents who were here long before we came. For them, this was & is a sacred sight. So it should be for us, though it already is for anyone, like you, who seeks it and presents it to others...Crisp detail too...

I think a LOT of us would be "round the bend" if we saw this--what a beautiful place. No way you couldn't follow that road, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see one of those guys just a bit further.......
