Description
Today it's Pasquetta (Little Easter) in Italy, and it's vacation time:no newspapers, most shops closed, and swamrs of tourists looking for an open bar. Easter is dedicated to gorgeous family lunches at home or - mostly, at the restaurant, with daddy and the uncles getting tipsy with "spumante" wine, mum and the aunts getting angry at daddy's excesses, and the children getting even more ill-bred than usual. I avoid restaurants at Easter. Little Easter is dedicated to picknicking "out of the city gates", which means that mum has worked three days to prepare the picnic and daddy tries to show that he's still able to compete with younger males.
So if you like to avoid family niceties, the better thing to do is strolling in a public garden, like this one near my apartment.

a stunning photograph, with a beautiful foreground tree embracing everything behind it. I love how the patches of bright red on the tree draw out the red shirt of someone walking down a ways. There's much clarity here, and it's vivid, and a perfect spring/Easter image, sans the many elements that are often attached to it; it fits your description of leaving the homestead to find the spirit outside. It's beautiful and a beautiful photograph in its own right...With the efforts to share the more mythic elements of the day with us, I hope yours had freedom & light too. This is beautiful.
