Description
Another view of the public garden near my home. Its name is Giardini Giotto, because there is the Scrovegni Chapel with one of the most famous medieval cycles by Giotto (14th century). It is also known as Arena Chapel and Gardens because it was built on the site of the Roman amphiteater, whose remains will be admired in one of my next posts.(;D)
Today it is a short cut for a number of university buildings, a market place for pushers (also to be admired in future posts), looking for customer among the many students passing by or spending some time here between classes. It's also a meeting point for many immigrants, mostly from Eastern Europe. It is particularly loved by the so-called "badanti" (caring after old people) from Eastern Europe. They take a chance to relax, eating some lunch, and exchanging news with their friends. The people on the bench are some of them.
The place is dotted by the busts of unknown famous people.
