Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

If it were here, I would tell you there had been a cannery there at one time. Some sort of wharf, perhaps?

great comments! Denise's is terrific—where they grow wild posts! (There's a story in there!) And I thought Stonehenge too, only the 'economy' version. This is the kind of shot that photography exists for—it's completely off-the-wall; it makes a fascinating and beautiful collection of textures, colors & forms; when taken by itself it's a complete statement; and we'd never see it this way in real life without stopping and really looking. Your photograph does the stopping & looking for us. Love this shot. The colors are really rich; and the background appears like a chunk of land that's been dug up and exposed: really rich. I even love how you let very little sky in. A definite fav.

Strange happening here. You kind of wonder if visitors from outer space did this? Interesting find. Aloha

Great POV, clarity and striated amber textures on the posts.

This is amazing, beautifully seen and perfectly captured. The color, as always, jumps right out at me, and yeah...I agree with Denise, this has to be where posts are grown. Great shot, perfectly captured and presented. And because I'm on this perpetual science fiction kick, I can imagine all sorts of bizarre possibilities behind their presence, including a few reasons that have to do with those enigmatic and somewhat moody Nemaeans who continually percolate through the recesses of my mind. Great stuff!

What a beautiful shot!! The color is sumptuous and the lighting is perfect, not bright but extremely clear. It looks very moist. I can almost feel the cool humidity in the air and the rough texture of the well-posted posts. It's a stunning and captivating photo!

Looks like a maze! Only a rabbit could enjoy it, though. ;o) Excellent image, and it is quite puzzling, which makes us pause to think about it. Wonderful image.
