Description

Boudica was, the bold, spirited and beloved Queen and Wife of a Tribal British King who ruled during the early occupation of the Roman Empire. Upon her husbands death Boudica's Property was siezed. She was tortured; flogged in the streets in attempt to quiet the people's love of her, and to break her spirit. Further her daughters were defiled terribly by Roman soldiers. Rome did not honor agreements struck with the King during his reign, and such deals died with him. Women had almost no rights in the world of the ancient Roman Empire. So a strong, beautiful and outspoken woman of nobility was something the Romans could not embrace or abide. In early celtic and gaelic societies women worked and fought wars alongside the men and were afforded equal rights. Boudica gathered her people and rose up against her oppressors the Romans, and completely destroyed two Roman Legions. Boudica, her daughters and the people that loved her so, went on to sack three Roman settlements, including Burning young Londinium (London) to the ground. Quite a woman and an enduring inspirational figure to the leaders, especially those female, through the history of Britain. Boudica, was said by celtic folklore to have been tall and strikingly beautiful, with porcelain skin and ruby red hair, emerald eyes and fair features that enchanted on a glance. The Roman historians don't say much of her beauty, but they hold up the rest. If you want to read more about Boudica the following link leads to some good info: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=boudica&aq=2&oq=Boudi I hope you like my impression of this great Woman. I certainly enjoyed her creation. Bigg:D

A warrior queen like Boadecia would never dress like a tramp. A Celtic queen, warrior or otherwise, would dress modestly in the Celtic tradition. On the battlefield, their women warriors either wore a short kilt or light leather armour if they could afford it. You are a good artist, but try drawinng your historical characters in outfits of their era.
