Description

Where there is no road; there is a way. (Zoom in works) I don't know whether I have gone a bit far by saying thereis no road here. There is but, they are frequently intercepted by water. In past 10yrs there has been a dramatic change in this area. One reason is tourism. I have mentioned here about a truck called Tipper, a heavy load carrier made of hard steel and equiped with hydrolic system. In an overnight a 200 of them may line up and move a small hill to this area. Thus new roads are coming here. But still there are areas that has no access with roads. Alleppey with highest density of population in Kerala, approx: 1.8 million people live in this area. Most areas have roads.But there are practical issues, such as public transport system. Water transport are the most cheapest transporting system. With large net work of canals compared to roads and economicaly , people mostly depend on boats.

My cousin lived in the far north of Alaska and told me about how they had roads in town but they only went about 2 miles outside of town and then stopped. They could not drive from one place to another and so she relied on bush plane to get around. I am still very surprised that boats this size can handle this load. This is a tribute to very hard working and driven people!
