My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

words do have power for the Bible say that God spoke and all you see around you came into being. cool words

The first two verses bring to mind the power of speaking vows. Unfortunately two people stating vows (formal or informal) don't always hold those words in equally high esteem. When my wife and I got married, she had our vows recorded. They meant so much to her but at the time I was unaware of what vows were all about and I was 29 ...to me they were just traditional words and they weren't spoken from the heart. Fortunately for me, I grew into those vows and they stuck! But I could have been the partner who never "got it". The second two verses seem to bring a longed for relationship to an unhappy impasse. I suspect that most of us who have been around for awhile have experienced the same thing in one form or another. You've written powerful words that make me sit here and mentally review the important relationships in my life. And that's good. Thanks for that my friend.

Nice!! and succint, It seems nowdays that too many forget the importance of what's spoken. Once uttered, words can never be taken back. I'm not sure why exactly I stopped on this, but I'm really glad that I did. Thank you for sharing this, it makes those who read it pause and think.

No wonder the word is compared to a sword! Powerful and sad.

This is incredibly evocative, as if you started out by whispering (or praying) "Sing in me, O Muse" or some modern equivalent to it. At any rate, this is powerful stuff...wonderfully elegant and straightforward at the same time. The closing lines of this are a superb closer to this piece. As always, it's spot-on, dignified, and is delivered without bells and whistles, but still...we're held rapt, and that feeling lingers long after the actual reading of the poem is done. Great work.
