"When a man with a rifle meets a man with a pistol, the latter is a dead man" (The Bad Guy to Clint Eastwood in A Fistful of Dollars). Some days ago I went to the builder's yard on the site of a medieval castle turned into a prison, abandoned for some decades, and currently under renovation to become a museum. I had my Konica-Minolta with a 12X zoom, together with my faithful Panasonic. While I was waiting for the guide, I heard a terrible commotion made of cat mews, shrieks and howls. Two feral cats darted from a heap of debris, and I shot almost blindly through the chain fence, with the 12x zoom. This is the result: a feral mum was trying to save her kitten from a big thug of tom-cat. Just a few seconds later they ran through a door and disappeared in the dark building. After a minute or less, the big tom-cat darted back, followed by a vengeful, furious cat mama, with no kitten in her mouth. I don't know whether the kitten survived the drama.
