Description

belong to an all artist site with a theme for each month. This month's theme centered around creating a sun image for the CBS Sunday morning show. By submitting our work is then included in the Library reference images for the show. If selected one is notified of the date it will be aired and a segment link sent to add to one's portfolio. Lots of Luck on your one of a kind Mr. Sunny, Sonya. I've been a long time fan of CBS Sunday Morning, one of the few enlightened shows on USA TV that I truly respect. Your Mr. Sunny still has a touch of your "Cosmic Fool" that I really adore ... loving the colour splashes and overall harmony. -Julian

just love this site. Have to over look once my a mistake. This is one of the images that am playing in the Corel program with. Have posted the original now. There are several different techniques you can apply and play with. This is the foil one; have noticed it doesn't quite appear as it does when printed (true foil look to it). Have also applied the straw and weave textures which change the image nicely (will spare you the repeated upload of those, smile) So intuitive Minuano. The Sun Duality and Cosmic Fool are now a pair. Thinking of working on the Moon next to tie the three into a whimsical series of sorts. Am in need of the pastel and muted landscape colors so jumping to a lighthouse and sea next. Told should tie my work together as jump around too much (representative that helped me set prices for my work and offered direction for the work. Stated that the body of the work doesn't have a common denominator. Sigh, doubt will be able to do that so will forever be just another painter lost in life with no focus. peeshaw,,,,,guess you get what you pay for his opinion of the work (which was critical but right on target) and a working formula for the pricing (that is fair)When all said and done; Love what focus on and thankful for the time and materials to paint it! Little sun an warmth to you all today.

this is stunning, Sonya. I saw the next one too, and they're similar but different. I agree with Julian about the Cosmic Fool, as it's so basic to our lives. (The highest concept in Hinduism is "lila," divine play.) The light & dark halves of the sun are beautifully done, especially with your intuitive hues (your violets & oranges are so "you", they're so from the solar plexus, from the heart). And I love the details around it: They're like rays of stained glass. It's a small piece, but beautiful; and it has all the traits you do so well. As for the critique of your work: Well, professional critiques are always a different from artistic critiques; and if a rep thinks you need to have more 'focus' or more unity among your works, well, he/she is speaking from the market's perspective, and I can't argue with markets (because I don't know much about them anymore!) But from the purely 'artistic' perspective, I think the underlying unity of your offerings is in your inimitable presence and style; your use of hue, your way of articulating it so that light is always coming out of it, your way of opening a surface with so much light & mystery, your way of seeing from inside. I could go on, but that's the unifying factor, not 'what' you paint (ie, if it's a landscape today & a portrait tomorrow, etc). But if you want to sell, you have to listen to reps & gallery owners, etc. They know how to market artists. You can always do your art, but when you present it, present it in groups of unified themes (or whatever one calls it). This sun is beautiful. It has play and vision too. I wonder if CBS used it...it's beautiful either way. I loved this when you posted it & I love it now.

Aw, my dearest heart, touchstone you are and always will be. Am waiting to hear back am told that it made the first two cuts and down to 4 now for a segment to air within the next 60 days. Since there are 4 to pick from for each show believe that this may be possible this summer for air time. Odd isn't it what pulls us out of the shadows in life and the markers we create as we step out. It is what it is and will be as believe in fate strongly. You've once more given me the name to my new series if you don't mind. Had it half there and with the lila, divine play know that is what am looking at with this mini series have been doing through my pregnant period of late (laugh) use this pregnant period as a metaphore only am far past the birthing time in life but it fits where my mind is now. If you don't mind will be using your critic once again on my artid site as well as incorporating the name into the lates series. Folks are sent your way and are exactly what you need at the time, you are that and more. Disregard the dark email from earlier--am past the angry/scared childlike mode due to healing words. Do you all know what a gift this individual is? Sorry, am a fan and have to state it publically stop blushing dear Anahata!
