Description

Like all men from Chicago, I am well accustomed to the absence of color. Such is the nature of the swamp-city named for onions. On the day of fallen leaves, I searched for color and found only variations of its absence. Such is the case in an urban center, its core of sky-touching towers declaring pious devotion to the holy triumvirate of banking, trade, and insurance. There are colors, however. Everywhere. Some are simply more internal than others. --- Obvious tweaking done in photoshop. -- As always, thank you for viewing, reading, and commenting on this an on my past pieces. Hopefully you're all having a great week.

I have a different view of cities and their color. I find the absence of it to be an amplification of the extreme. I do like the simplicity of this shot which is so very different from the city. :-)

This is wonderfully done! I love the stark simplicity. You've broken every rule there is, and it works perfectly!

Most remarkable! As Tara says..., and it makes an engaging image. I could not live in a city such as yours, I should shrivel.

This is evocative and emotional. You are a person taking the small / large beauties of nature. Most people put their foot on top of that beautiful sheet.Great capture.I love the contrast.fav.

I love how spare and stark this picture is! The sheer simplicity of the image and the contrast of the colors are striking and nicely done. I also like the soft/hard juxtipositioning of the organic leaf against the man-made concrete. Simple and perfect. A classic.
