Description

I hope I have got the name of this one right, the leaflet that I got from the butterfly farm has three different pictures with the same name and this is a mixture of two of them. Ismenius Longwing(Heliconius ismenius) or it could be Hecales Longwing(Heliconius hecales)both are native to South America. I'm sure Danny will correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make.

I just love the russet color in the lower wings. And with both a top and side view, I think you struck gold with this presentation.

Yep you got this one right these heliconius longwings have a habit of mimicry as the get the added benefit of being distasteful to predators, and also Hybridise to make matters worse

Such lovely colors and patterns. They're little flying works of art, aren't they? Beautiful!
