Description

I just posted this in the Bryce Challenge, which accounts for the image size. The theme this month is a Chesley Bonestell theme. I tried to keep the work in the spirit of the great artist. Bonestell is most known for his work in Collier's magazine, Disney, and NASA. But he did a lot more than just that. He also illustrated for Science Fiction pulps of the '40s and '50s, which is where it took my inspiration. In those scenes, the spacemen were always on Mars, trying to escape some impending doom sandstorm. So I decided to give that idea an updated look and feel. This was made 95% in Bryce, with the Rover's pods created in Wings3D, and the Astronauts are the Apollo Maximus character. The spacesuit came with the Apollo Maximus character. I made the helmet and everything else. Enjoy.

Wonderful terrain and excellent POV. The lighting is also spot on. I like the sand storm that seems to be blowing in from the right. Very cool picture!!! looking forward to seeing more of this type of work from you. Cheers, David
