Description

sea gulls by the thousands roost in various parking lots around Mesquite Texas.during the day they leave for feeding grounds-"ugh" city refuse dump or where ever they find food.most of the time they return flying close to my house and the other day they were riding warm air currents and they were so high it was hard to see without the telescopic lens.at times they appeared to be funnel of birds.I was out all day yesterday and came home, fed my dogs and went to bed.so I am behind again for the galleries thanks for viewing and any comments

Wow! And not even along the ocean coast. That's a lot of birds. The wetlands must be offering slim pickings.

Flying rats:) They'll eat just about anything and can be a nuisance at any dump with mixed refuse.

Here, they're known as flying rats. It's a wonder that such a nice looking bird (seriously, I think they are one of the better looking birds, it you know what I mean) can be so dirty at the same time.

They look lovely out over the water, not so lovely in the parking lot. I like these shots of them, though!

Great shots Richard! The gulls here do that too but the worst is the crows, the sky literally turns black when they pass over and the tree branches bend under the weight of them when they take a rest!

Great captures and background Richard. For some reason we have more crows than seagulls here and sometimes you see huge swarms of them as well, especially in South Florida.
