Description

At only 11mm long, I first thought this was a fly of some sort. I had never seen a bee that small, much less a green one. This is a female Sweat Bee - Agapostemon texanus, The male has a black and gold striped abdomen. Thanks very kindly for your views and comments.

You know I love these. Only seen a couple so far this year. Hope they reproduce quickly! Nice shot of this one, love that it is fully green as well (abdomen). Still love their eyes. Great shot!

Wow, wow, wow. Such a wonderful photo. To me, the green in the background highlights the green of the bee in a marvelous way.

These green bees make excellent subjects. They look great on any color flower. I may have some way back in my gallery if I recall correctly or they may have been deleted in the past. Excellent shot!

Oh wonderful, another variety of insect I've never heard of or seen before. Maybe I should just stick to aircraft and automobiles. In any event, a fine macro of the green sweat bee doing what their species unfailingly does during their lifetime, Maria. And I wonder if they really do ooze green sweat.
