Description

As soon as he started the astrocargo ignition, J.S. also launched the code signal of rescue. Every GOD starship picking it up would rush ASAP to rescue a comrade-in-arms in trouble. J.S. knew that the signal would also be picked up by the nearby Rogue mothership. However, even if he didn't know the position of GOD ships, his astrocargo autonomy was limited, and he didn't have other options. He hoped that some Earthener destroyer was cruising in the area. He also wished that the commander didn't like the Rogues and their hostile behavior against an Earthener brother-in-arms. Once outside the atmosphere of New Mars, hiding in the planet's albedo two Manta class Rogue fighters approached from 5 o'clock high. One of the Rogues shot a prow volley to signal him to follow them. The fact that they wanted him alive was even more worrysome, but it gave him some precious time. The Rogues were not famous for their patience, however, and the second wake of tracers was dangerously close. "Alpha Charlie 16 - J.S.'s radio crackled - This is Gulf 1. We have you in sight." "Gulf 1, Alpha Charlie 16, Good to have you with us", J.S. replied immediately. J.S. saw that two Earthener Vipers were threateningly tailing the Rogues. But the Rogues didn't give up. One shot a vengeful volley at the astrocargo, while the other skilfully manoeuvered for a front attack position against the Vipers. GOD's pilots were eager to engage the enemy, and after a while the Rogue fighters were space wreckage. When J.S. landed on the hangar platform of the "Temeraire", he was welcome by a round of applause. Then an officer came forward: "Follow me, Sergeant Major Sea. The commander wants to meet you." Then he added: "Congratulations for the reentry. You've been on the MIA list for mouths." "You should be very important - the commander greeted J.S. - As soon as we transmitted your ID code, I received orders from the very top to take you to the Sector HQ on Capella 5. From here you'll be sent to the Earth." During the two sideral days on the Temeraire J.S. exploited everybody's discretion and rested. When he arrived at Capella 5 HQ, J.S. started to prepare to land. He realized, however, that during those two days of rest he had wondered more about Eve than the score of his favourite Rugby Team in the Stellar Championship. Looking at his face in the mirror he asked the reflected image: "Doctor, is it serious?" "Very serious, I'm afraid." his face chuckled. Thank you to all people who appreciated the previous picture! What a great, exciting composition. The spatial orientation of the ships and the lines they take are super. Great job on this. Not just another space fight scene.

From the characters to a war...you now plunge us into a quick but deadly round of warfare, where we wonder for a moment who will win. JS does, but you got in some quick heavy relays before it was over. His entry into the Temeraire (did I get that right?) is greeted with praise and welcome. And JS, in the meantime, sleeps. Then he prepares to go, and you end it with a good handling of his emotions for Eve and the others. And re Eve, "Is it serious?" We got just a glimpse of Eve's feelings, just a glimpse; but we get a much greater glimpse of JS's. Nicely done, Flavia. You ended a quick battle with intimations of love. In the image, I have to assume that after working with the exacting demands of character and architectural/technical detail of most of these images, being able to just create an all-out battle has its advantages. Not that the ships are easy: But that the flying bullets, fire, etc, all seem splattered on, the way Jackson Pollock splattered on paint: with a certain amount of gleeful abandon. Well maybe not, I don't know---as I never worked in 3D. But I hope so, since I assume most of the other images are time consuming and step-by-step in their creation. Nicely done image to suit the battle; and a nice looming 'space station' in the upper left corner too...
