Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

In my experience, a mockingbird will chase off jays in a heartbeat, About the same size, different body shape and a one-way attitude. Your bluejay is handsome, Bill.

Wonderful shot of this guy. They sure are bossy little birds as I've noticed in the past.

Hey, big man on campus! This American Blue Jay definitely has an attitude problem and should seek help in control management. Superlative backlighting, colors, focus and textures in this fine foto, Bill! And, I never get tired of birds, or for that matter, anything that can take flight.

Lovely shot Bill!! Seems to me you need to feed him more, kind of skinny!! LOL .

I love birds and feed ours here all winter though we don't have many as nicely coloured as you do. This is a beautiful capture and I can't get too many of them.

jays are very aggressive when they have nests and will hit people in the head here.beautiful capture

Great image! There is definitely a pecking order here. That big neck says he's fairly high up in ranking. Our red-shafted flickers show up and these guys become very scarce in the game of chicken. The jays and the purple grackles both run in gangs, and which group wins depends on their numbers. Rabbits hold their own against jays, if they're there first. A crow trumps all of them. I'm starting the jays also watch squirrels to find food. Chase the squirrels and the jays thin out, too. We don't get many of the cute woodpeckers and they're shy, and never anyone with red feathers, although a few western tanagers pass through. Love your sunny perch.

Great shot. I'm working on my Jays to get them to pose. They are still a little skiddish. Perhaps by the end of summer they will be bold enough to let me get a shot like this.

what a colorful bird, Bill, those feeding places are just great to look at and take shots... at my parents place the woodpecker is the king of the place..chasing all the others away and loudly anouncing his presence...smile
