Description

Male Rose-breasted Grosbeak with legs buried in Songbird seed. Friday's Bird, is a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak. The coloring of the male and female is strikingly different. Yesterday, at least two males and three females came looking for seed. Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Mother's Day to all you ladies who are...!!! Bill:) Yesterday's birds included: 1. Saturday's Bird 2. The Arrival NOTE: A few folks beat me up (only a little) for not having the Cardinal in "Saturday's Bird" as sharply focused as birds in other photos. After 40-50 images of that Cardinal...that's as good as he gets. There is something unusual about his red coat that always makes it look slightly out of focus. LOL

Red is a tough capture ... something I know from flower photography. The detail wants to wash out, or the digital camera picks up weird colors ... it's always something! I love your little friend sitting right in the bowl. Why perch when you can wallow? :)

It happens that way! Worry not about the Cardinal! You have produced so many other brilliant pictures of birds and they are so HARD to get pictures of at the best of times! Always on the move..... This one is brilliant and very handsome! Great shot. Rob.

Fantastic shot. You should submit them to the Audubon Society for their Book. Yours are a whole lot better than many they have now.

Still another capital capture of yet another avian that I sure as heck never see around here. Terrific light/shadow ambiance and focus in this composition, with beautiful color design on the bird, Bill!
