Description

Hi there. Today the first shot of the bridge from the yesterday shot. The bridge is about 68m high and has a length of 279m. The big bow in the middle has a range of 31,1m. The foundation stone is set on the 7th of November in 1846 and the bridge was build with 12.323.000 bricks, about 31.237 m³ brickwork. There were 800 workers to build it. On the 16th of April in 1945 the German armed forces detonated the middle bows short time before the end of the 2nd World War. Till 1950 the train must stop before the bridge and the passengers must walk through the valley to continue their travel. Hope my translation is correct *g* Please zoom for details and have all a great day.
