Ultra Fractal 5.02, with nine layers excluding the intials and year. This came about from studying a upr recently uploaded to the UF List. I realised neither of the formulas had been used by myself so set about correcting this omission. The two formulas are: sam.ufm, Glyph, and mt.ucl, Sine. The base image is formed from using these but the "smoke" (5 layers) was prepared differently from knowing what I wanted and trying to obtain a usable effect. Rene Magritte's painting "This is Not a Pipe," is quite famous and expresses a humour within the obvious truth. My picture could equally be called "This is Not Smoke." I suppose all representational art is just that. To copy is to transcend - or maybe wreak havoc. We certainly finish with something different as this quote indicates: "When Picasso was asked about his portrait of Gertrude Stein and told that it did not resemble her, he replied ‘No matter, it will’."
