Description

Simi Valley, California Taken this past February on a visit back home to see my Dad. When people here in Tennessee find out I am from California one of their first questions is what part and I usually say about 45 miles north of Los Angeles and judging from this photo I am pretty right on... hope you enjoy! Would love to challenge everyone to show their 'hometown' Thanks so much for your interest and support of my photos... Mast General Store 1883 thumb_1882196.jpg

Neat photo...I've heard of Simi Valley for years but haven't seen anything of it until Ronald Reagan's funeral on TV. I'll aim to take you up on your challenge...Leavenworth has saved a number of its' old buildings and homes. I've thought of doing this before but didn't know if I was smart enough to make it interesting:)

So well done and colorful! These old stores are wonderful to come across. Great place to find the old "penny candy" and have a look around from the old bench.

What a great place to grow up. I'll bet this store is a major local attraction. I'd post a pic of my old neighborhood, but it's a case of "you can never go home again" for me. The steel mill is gone and several of the apartment buildings have burned down and wlking down the street might get me killed. Too depressing.

You gotta be kidding! The same community that features the Ronald Reagan library, Air Force One, et al? What is this, Los Angeles north, circa 1840? Give me a teeny weeny break. In any event, excellent clarity, color and variety of texture in this home town shot, Lynell!
