Description

Simi Valley, California Built in 1903 by the Southern Pacific Railroad, the Santa Susana Depot served passengers and farmers in the town of Simi Valley for more than 60 years. With a classic passenger waiting room featuring a pot-belly stove, the depot was also headquarters for local freight shipments. It was also the home of the station agent. Today the Depot is the home of the Rancho Simi Foundation and the Santa Susana Pacific Model Railroad Club where Amtrak, Metrolink and Union Pacific trains pass by every day. Come and travel back to the past in this wonderful museum and train layout. Today I am driving to Virginia in search of Mabry mill I have been wanting to go see it for a while so I've got the car packed up, lets see cooler of snacks, water and diet cokes, bag of M&M's, a map just in case, my sunglasses I don't leave home with out them, my cameras, plus extra batteries, an assortment of cds though I will probably just find a good oldie station to rock out to.... checked the radar looks pretty good, all set anyone want to ride along?? wish me luck have a great day everyone. Got about a 4 hour drive so time to head out. This is my hometown. thumb_1882535.jpg

nice detail & angle, Lynell, a sensitive capture of a grand old cart & surroundings. Because you caught this from below, we get to see the big space underneath the old cart, and how 'vast' those shadows were to us when we were kids! And we get to see all the other old stuff above it. I love everything in this, and the shot itself. Fine work all around.
