Description
Well, I wanted to do a weird horror cover, and had an image in my head. And this is one of the very very rare times that what I put on screen actually matched the image in my head.
It started out as a challenge thing for my publisher. I'd do the cover and we'd challenge people to write the material for it. As it progressed, I thought, well, why not resurrect an anthology I edited in the 80s - DAMNATIONS. It had an introduction by JN Williamson, and stories by people like Kevin Anderson, John Betancourt, Jeff Geld, David Silva and others. It went over well, but the publisher folded before I could get the second issue done. It was always intended as a series. Now I'm hoping to resurrect it and finally do the series.
The biggest challenges here were the vignette lighting, and secondly, creating an image that didn't immediately make people think of Rosemary's Baby. I don't know if the indication that this baby is a carnie freak comes through clearly. I hope so. I've actually been amazed that it turned out so closely to what I envisaged, and that I was able to accomplish it on my retarded computer.

I would have thought the vignette was done in post. Shows impressive control. Interesting man in the moon treatment as well.
