Description

this is the result of a crazy experiment in sketchup and thinking of a nursery rhyme. There was a crooked man Who walked a crooked mile. He found a crooked sixpence Against a crooked stile. He bought a crooked cat Which caught a crooked mouse, And they all lived together In a crooked little house. some people said it is a big house - well, it is actually a miniature version :-) some people think i am a little crooked - yes i am :-)

Nice results from your experiment! Deformation tool? Nicely colored and textured! But more of a crooked BIG house with rooms for many crooked men and many crooked cats and costing many crooked sixpences...

I like your rhyme, kosie, and your crooked house. And as you talk about a litle house...and that one you did look to me like a crooked world...where we live,no doubt.I love your experience and the colours, and the pawns...and the most I love is the concept behind.Bravo!

That nursery rhyme brought back happy memories!! Crooked didn't have quite the same usage it has now. I love your house, especially the Dutch gables, one of my neighbours created a sensation when he built some onto his house, we rarely see those here!

the tale of course is fun, and your skew of the perspective & facades is a lot of fun too; but your structure is, design-wise, first rate. A real northern European structure, with those staircased dormers and the wide-narrow-wide alternating windows, and that 'crest' shaped uppermost facade in the tower to the left, etc. (I know there are terms for these things, but I don't remember a thing! I remember dentil, cornice and maybe mullion—maybe—but I've lost all the rest!) I love the big bold white cornice on the right: I know they're found in your country, but it does have a feel of an architectural joke because of its bold brightness; and even the little spout in the left-side facade is nicely clean and bold. (And, do I see a hole in that window? I mean, am I looking too much—if it were America, it could be a hole alright, from a gunshot or a rock!) Anyway, I love your detail here, you got all the right trim (in brick) and the right perspective on the ornament, even the scrolls at the top of the arches (above the windows): all correct. Maybe a lot of people won't know these things, but it's a delight for those who do. And I love the green in the ground level windows & doors...And btw, if this is a house for 'one guy', that guy's got MONEY! I don't care if he's from Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson or whoever: This guy's loaded! (Duuuude! I might afford a pane in one of those windows!) Love it & all the detail you put into it: Even in a piece whose 'highlight' is the twist & turn, the real star is your impeccable detail of each story and each piece of ornament. It's a delight through & through. Marvelous.

It is nice to find another SketchUp user on Renderosity. I do not understand why Renderosity does not have a SketchUp gallery. It has become such a popular program at such an affordable price.
