Description

Hi there. This shot was taken last night - 4 minutes past midnight. The last days 7 of my 48 hawk-moths hatched. And now - the right moment looking in the box and take some shots. I will show you more next days.

Well done for hatching them, I know it's not straightforward.

A very detailed and explicit macro. I think this image would be a great addition to wikipedia or any scientific publication- It is far more detailed a shot of a moth emerging than I have ever seen published- this is super sharp in the areas of focus and a really good view of this specimen. It's almost unsettling too- its a huge shot of a bug emerging from its crusty cocoon and those bits strewn about with some goo attached! Technically cool, but friggin' nasty my friend! I know it's nature- but opening this during lunchtime might have some people performing reverse peristalsis! Put a warning on this image! :)
