Description

This image is a bit more fantasy style than my usual stuff. This allowed me a bit more artistic freedom. The idea was to create a "Great wall of China" type scene with volumetric lighting and to play with colors. The WB landscape is a "Grey scale profile" painted in Photoshop, this allowed me to obtain the old ruined wall effect. No skeleton lines were used. There are many spot lights positioned in this image to give the colouring effect. Thanks for looking

This is a nice image, together with a good tip and prove that there is an alternative way to create the landscape/moutains. Although I made a L-System script what makes it easy to create skeleton lines, I'm not quite satisfied with the overall look of it. Maybe this method gives better or more realistic results.

Moody lights!! It's a little bit similar to BRYCE, but with AWB you can make hundreds of trees! Do you use a gray-scale picture like in Bryce?

To Ericart, BorisB, yes the "Greyscale Profile" is a gray-scale image, that works like the Bryce landscapes. Example: Create 512 x 512 image in Photoshop, set colours to default, run the clouds filter. Save image as BMP, start WB, click on Landscape, click on skin, click the add property button, choose "Landscape greyscale profile". You can then choose your greyscale image to use as a landscape. You need to set the max height in these settings, or you will get a flat landscape. You can view your greyscale image in the view ports by choosing "Greyscale map" in the contents viewer. You can still use skeleton lines with a grey scale image landscape, so its very flexible. Try the various Photoshop filters for some way out landscapes, or you can paint your own using the brushes etc. Black represents low areas, white high.

very well done! The way the terrain laid itself out is nice. SHows that randomness that mothernature can only do. The wall came out great. I can see this in a fantasy setting for sure. Put a wizards tower on the hill someplace and you would have a nice book cover. Very well done.

Lovely composition! Problem with how the fog lays, not how it is in nature.

If I had just the half of your talent in using this program I would buy it. This scens is extremely well composed! I just love the mood and fog and the wall and the textures and the trees and the clouds and the lightbeams and the wall and the trees and the wall.... (did I get everythin) You certainly should be doing more fantasy-like stuff!

Great but I think this community don't appreciate image with bright mood. They always give high ranking for those nearly invisible image. So make your image darker and maybe it should attract more viewer to see and rate it.
