Description

North a ways and around a few corners from the image I posted yesterday (Ridgeline) is another view of Eldorado and Klawatti peaks. Eldorado tops out at 8,868 feet (center), and Klawatti at 8,485 feet (left). We were driving along the edge of the valley floor at about 400 feet above sea level, and just pulled off to the side of the road so I could get out and get this shot. I shouldn't tell you that ... you would think I was out hiking in the mountains, looking at this, wouldn't you? :D

Fine view. I like the layered look to the mountains/hills in between where you are "hiking" and the snow covered peaks. Great country:) Any birds up that way?

Looking at those trees in the foreground I thought you were at the top of one of those for this shot. #;0) Or at the very least at the top of one of the rangers spotting towers. In the UK we have spots like this(where you where standing) that have a plaque with information about what you can see from there. Places of outstanding beauty like this should be marked. Excellent capture and presentation. Bravo!!!!!

Another fantastic scene. But if we had information signs everywhere there was a great view we'd have so many signs the views wouldn't be visible! Lovely capture!

Beautiful capture and reminds me of the time I spent in the Northwest. The very finest thing about Seattle, and there are plenty more coming in a close second. But being able to explore so many different environments with just a short drive is fantastic.

Beautiful and craggy, but mere hills as mountains go. And don't wear floppies when hiking.

Mountains have an understandably recognized grandeur (wow, I spelled grandeur right!) and this showcases it. The composition shares a lot in common with your previous post, and I love the more intimate feel of it...your choice of a smaller bit to focus in on; it has the feel of a slow-zoom close-up on the craggled face of a young/rugged hero about to do whatever it is that young/rugged heroes do during closeups. The snow and the greenery is fantastic in its contrast and that plays well in this picture. In short, I really like this! Great work, as always.
