started the pour of watercolor on illustration board for this one. Each image is put through draw/paint digital art program. The finished helps work out composition, and value studies for the artwork. Program allows me to use medias/brushes/chalk that don't have but want the look of (pastel/oils)and draft then becomes an ACEO print of the original. The title suggests the challenge theme (behind closed doors). Tempted to put pen/ink over original shall see...

It makes me think of the Medieval work, "Revelations" by Julian of Norwich. I don't know why, but she spent all these years in solitude, peering into her soul and finding revelations of her faith as she saw it. It was very bold for its day, and glowed as if from inside a sacred chamber: That's how this image feels. It has a feeling of "behind closed doors," but it also feels like all the light of the soul is there—so inside those doors is the universe itself. A very inward looking woman, whose head is surrounded by the arch of the door (as it it were her personal 'halo'!), and that red wall around it—all very aged & woody, making her an ageless soul who could be in another age, in a deep dark forest. Inward & touching...and her finger over her mouth indicates she has a secret; but her eyes invite us to know that secret. A very peaceful work, with a little bit of tease, and real beauty inside of it.
