Description

Clouseau was going for a deep coldness to this image but feels that it is lacking something. Clouseau needs your advice as to how to make this scene better. Any suggestions?

I think it looks cold and blue to me. The mountains are well done. Personally I'd give the lighting a more yellowish hue, not to achieve more coldness, of course, but to get more contrast in the colours. I don't think that's your goal, though. Well done. 5*

Very nice, my only comment ... when I think Himalayas, I think of massive mountains, so maybe something to show the scale. Just a thought.

If you are going for coldness, more snow at the very top of the mountains might help. However, still looks excellent to me. Great work!

This is beautiful as is. However, if you're targetting for a colder and probably higher altitude place, I think you should lower the atmosphere, by lowering the slider "sky mean altitude" in the "sky, fog and haze" tab. Your shadows have a soft impression, which is nice, but don't give the impression of high altitude. At high altitudes and cold air, the air is cleaner, with less haze, and so the light/shadows transition is sharper. So, you should probably increase the slider "light balance" towards sunlight, in the "Light" tab of the atmosphere settings and you should remove the shadow softness, if you have any. Just my two cents. :-)

Great as is, James, but maybe the blueer light would do, and perhaps a God Ray, or two, in the middle distance. I was watching the program 'Cloudspotting' on BBC 4 the other week, and apparently they are called 'crepuscular rays', or something similar. I prefer that they are God's rays.. ';O) Warm regards, on the Spirit's special day, my friend, John.
