Description
Captured 5/16/09, very early in the morning, within walking distance of my archaic abode.
Okay, I could have titled it molting or shedding tree bark, but that sounds so mundane, and I've been waiting eons for an opportunity to use the space-time continuum title because it's so mind-blowing esoteric.
Since Tunde is deep into this tree trunk stuff, she should really like it. She calls it skin, I call it bark.
Incidentally, a trail of ants moving north and south can be observed in the bottom two photos.
And I have no idea what kind of tree that is, but Andrea probably does.
Thankx for the peek, and have a heuristic hump day.

Ah, so THAT's where it is! Now that we know we can probably get it fixed, right? At first I thought you were going to show us some earthquake damage (I hear things are shaking a bit down there). Excellent textural capture of this tree shedding its skin!

Fine collage Harry. I grew up with a Sycamore tree in the front yard to climb. The bark did exactly what this bark is doing. Only thing that throws me a bit is the pink hue on the bark...was it pink or is this just a light thing? The ants make an interesting parade:)

Very interesting images!

So that is why my atoms started unraveling this morning. And to think I have ants to blame for it rather than some Q entity, hah! Great shots -- we have Gumbo Limbo trees that peel similarly, but not the same.

Very cool collage of this abstract peeling bark. :)

I know Birches do this, but looks too pink for Birch.....nice shot.

bmac62 is onto something. I does look like sycamore bark but the outer bark of the sycamore is gray. It could be some other species of Platanus, maybe a plane tree? Anyhoo, it's beautiful!

lol...HULK ripping his shirt again. This is great Harry. Love the first shot, good crack.

I love it! The ants add a whole new dimension!! It kinda does look like skin, Harry. Maybe it's a banana tree cuz it's peeling... lol.
jocko500
cool shot and the ants gives it a size to how big those cracks are in the bark

Tears in the space-time continuum invariably lead to a surfeit of chronoton particles in the atmosphere. If you stood there for very long, you're probably somewhere between twenty and thirty years younger than you were before. Excellent images, btw! Love the ants.

I like that green Hulk idea...lol Excellent. Aloha

Is it a Madrone tree? just a guess

I'm lost in that time space thing, but I do know about trees and this I like a lot!!

Took me a while to work out the first shot! Then I read your write up! Clever shots, Rob.

Well, I don't remember any extraordinary events here last May, so the tear must not have made it to Texas. Excellent shots of this uninhibited tree!
