Description

Captured 5/16/09, very early in the morning, within walking distance of my rancorous residence. No arcane or unusual birds and/or insects, but at least I have interesting bark shedding activity down in my neck of the woods (no pun intended). And I don't know this tree species either. Almost a eucalyptus. Thankx for dropping by, and have a topical Thursday.

It does look rather like a eucalyptus species. Nice capture of this big wooden snake in molt!

I think Bill is right I guessed that yesterday and eucalyptus trees have a much darker bark and not as green of a trunk There were all over where I grew up. but lol I am not expert.

cool colors. I think is looks cool. I heard a tree called a touist tree because it get sunbrun and shed it skin like a sunburn person do. I saw the tree one time and that was a long time ago. It lok like this might be one

The bark looks too smooth to be eucalyptus, and too thick to be madrone. (It's madrona up here, for whatever reason, but down there it would be madrone.) Whatever you've found, it's quite beautiful!

I'm with Tara, eucalyptus seems a little rougher, but no matter, it's got lots of color and that smooth wood just sets it off perfectly!!
