Description

Urbanism, from my documentary " New York was blue" (1980) I shot these pictures in January, 1980. I waited through a 7 day to get best conditions for shooting aerial photographs. Finally on the eighth day I got perfect weather. It was cold, crisp and clear. I felt so fresh. I chartered a helicopter with a pilot who was a veteran of the Viet Nam War. Before flying we had a brief flight plan meeting and obtained permission from JFK. We left the heliport two hours before sunset. The sky was an intense blue and the buildings reflected the color of the sky. Perched in the opening of the helicopter, secured by a harness, I shot these photos. (from "New York was blue") Photo Data: Nikon F36MD PC Nikkor 28mm f4 Kodachrome PKR-64 w/PL Filter 1/60sec. f:8~11 Date: Jan. 1980
