Description

Ann and I saw this bush up at Snoqualmie Falls, and neither of us had any idea what it was. For Ann to be stumped is quite unusual! I promised her I'd ask you guys and see if anybody knew. Each little flower is maybe 1/2 an inch or less (about 1cm) and the whole cluster can't be more than 2 inches across. I made sure there's nothing in the shot to confuse possibile identification. The leaves and branches are all part of the same plant. The dof is a bit more artistic than I would have liked, but the bark is relatively smooth, if that helps. Thanks! :)

It's Witch hazel after the little 'streamers' have gone! The calyx persists for ages. Now you 'mention' it, I 've never noticed fruits!

Andrea says Witch Hazel so I will go with that, Pauline swears by Witch Hazel for bumps and bruises. A pretty little flower I must say. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

I have no idea what this is, but I wonder what eats it. Ah, so typical of me! Great on all levels. I like the details here. I've never seen anything like this and your up-close-and-personal POV is great. Fantastic work, as always.
