Description

Captured 4/4/09, at the semibeautiful Chino Planes of Fame Museum in the semibeautiful Chino Airport in semibeautiful Chino, California. Like jocko500, I also like to take pictures of people taking pictures, so while at the museum I happened to reserve a few of my efforts to catching some of these stalwarts at work. After all, I always try to get my money's worth when attending these events! A ZOOM will be well worth it. In the top shot, I blurred out the background because the neat lens got lost in the blackness and tumult of it all. If I had realized this was going to happen I would have shifted my POV. In the second shot, it took two chairs to accommodate the massive and voluminous avoirdupois of this attentive paparazzo. This was at an assembly in a hanger featuring old WWII P-38 pilots recounting their adventures during the war. In the third capture, a neat pose with the camera, and a hair problem that is somewhat unique. I call the well equipped dude in the bottom photo Mister Bee, because he was certainly as busy as one, perpetually flitting about, shooting away with abandon with all his photo gear. I bet if he took one, he took and video taped 7000 shots of the P-38 fighter alone. He was so interesting in handling all that equipment I caught several pics of the guy. Incidentally, these chaps were so intent on what they were doing they had no hint they were being photographed. Thankx for coming by, and have a flavorful Friday.

This is cool. Now you're giving me ideas. I've got a new camera coming and I'm not getting rid of my present one...that means at the next airshow I can go with two...one with big telephoto and the second with wide angle!!! Wow, I hadn't considered that. Maybe I should hire a Sherpa to tote my gear:-)

A photographic field day! My what a range of photographer styles! "Grizzled" is a term that comes to mind in the group shot... Great work chronicling the chroniclers, Harry!

I once saw a photographer a Flying legends, Duxford with a (this is true!) FOUR FOOT LENS! AND he was leaning on it! Like a resting post. I could not believe the size of it. I mean ....... WHY? How close do you need to get? Great shots dude! Rob.
