Description

When I purchased this specimen from a grower 5 years ago, it was only but a twig with a few branches. It is a Japanese maple (acer palmatum) known as the Red Dragon and originates from New Zealand. It will grow into a mound like structure some 7 to 8 feet in height and one can literally walk into and underneath its canopy when mature. The fine, lacy leaf structure will retain its bold red color into the Autumn season. Enjoy the photo and thanks for viewing and any comments you care to leave. Frame with PhotoScape 3.3

Obviously, you are very proud of this Red Dragon, and rightly so! It is an impressive capture of an unusual species for me! Long live Nikon cameras :-)

Deb and I have one in our garden as well but it's only about 3 foot high. They are really great looking during summer. I fell in love with the red leaves. I like the lanterns you've got as well. Tony.

It certainly is a lovely color the only thing I have against bush to close to home ground is we get a lot of spiders here but other wise it would be a great tree to show off :
