Description

"An excerpt from the lost diary of Angus mchaggis, librarian/ occultist. February 13th 1923. Who would have guessed, an obscure reference from a forgotten book could hold the key to unlocking the greatest power the world has ever known. The trail has been long and hard, the things I’ve seen, and the things I’ve done would be enough to drive a normal man mad. Not me, I’m stronger. I lost Andrew at the North Pole retrieving the forbidden talisman. And Catharine I’ll miss her as well, now raving mad at the Edinburgh Asylum. With the book, and the talisman, I prepare to do the unthinkable. The stairs will take me to the deepest depths of the old city where the sleeping god rests. My mission to awaken Cuthullu himself. Wish me luck. " In case you hadn't figured it out, this image is a tribute to H.P. Lovecraft, the father of modern horror.

I remember this image from the artzone contest. It blew me away. I'm a big Lovecraft fan myself...and this really captures it. Immediately took me back to the old "Call of Cthulhu" RPG.

Ah losing sanity points takes me back! LOLOLOL Calling the Elder Gods and getting characters eaten like pop-corn at a movie! Those lazy, crazy days of Cthulhu madness! Very cool send up of a forgotten genre fraught with madness and terror.

Love it - this certainly looks like the Leviathan or Kraken. Wonderful - love the ethereal, can't-quite-put-my-finger-on-it feeling of foreboding. Fantastic creepy-good job!
