Description

Found by the side of the road and apparently in good condition, this owl should be released once it gets to flying and hunting. Now, it has the fuzzy cover of a youngster. This is the time for youngsters. I saw a baby American Kestrel, a fuzzy young Red Shouldered Hawk, very young and furious Barn Owls who came from a nest in a tree which was cut down. Leave the tree a little longer and they could have gone into the wild with parents directions...oh well. Most of the youngsters are in fine condition and the idea is to keep them healthy and not fond of people. They have to stay wild to make it well. Owls click their beaks, making a sort of barking sound when they do not want you around. The little barred owl told me quickly to leave its area and I did.

Awe, cute little guy/gal. Hope it gets strong enough to fly away on it's own, and join up with other owls. Very nice shot. Aloha
