Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Oooh, this is great. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought I was looking at fossils, but instead, you've treated us to another thing all together. I'm quite curious about these, and the link you provided is a goodie! I love the colors here, the rich earth tones, the perfect light. You do have an eye! Great stuff as always, and I have the travel bug again...Your Hawaii pictures have stimulated that. That's always a good thing!

Fascinating stuff, Marilyn. Isn't it weird when you stand on that spot a feel the spirituality of those places, and although I have never been there I have certainly experienced the same feelings in visiting other historical places. Excellent pictures and presentation!

My how things change I wonder what the ancients would think of us and what we have done with their land! very nice set of photographs of petroglyphs, I always feel humbled when I come across something very ancient.

An ancient's form of doodling at a meeting? No disrespect to the ancients intended...just have all of Andrea's doodles in mind:-)

I have never been to this area even tho I had spent a lot of time in the Puako Village area during my youth. A lot of things had changed since then including the the Hotels and Condo's. A wonderful capture of a story and history of old Hawaii. Aloha

I know what you mean, I felt it at Stonehenge (despite the orange plastic fencing and all the busloads of tourists!). What a cool find and really excellent shots!

Neato keeno collage of the petroglyphs, Maz! I didn't know they had that kind of stuff in Hawaii. For better or for worse, you are now possessed by the spirits of the islands. Do not be surprised when you are contacted in your dreams. Aloha.
