Description

Captured 5/16/09, very early in the morning, at various sites within walking distance of my hackneyed hovel. A ZOOM would be to your absolute benefit. I don't know about photos #1 & 2, but #3 & 4 look like eucalyptus trees to me. They're all pretty keen, but I especially like the full length peel of the bottom shot. Thankx for popping in, and have a substantially significant Sunday.

These are so cool, Harry! Makes me think of Indian birchbark canoes and all sorts of other things that bark was used for...great captures!

Great collage. Always fascinating to see treebarks as crackle up.

Those trees aren't all they are cracked up to be. OK, pretty lame, but I just couldn't help myself:-) Excellent shots of the unusual for our viewing pleasure. Well done as always! Hats off to you my WWII vet friend...will think of you tomorrow.

These are fantastic. I love the contrast between the outer bark and the inner back. Your lighting is excellent.

I've never seen bark like this before in my life; very interesting! Like Jodie says, 'another A-PEELING shot" lol (I know, I can be lame :) )

OMG, this is so freaky! I was just watering the garden a short while ago and looked at some tree bark! The idea then came to me to shoot some images of garden textures!!! Excellently seen and captured Harry! :)

These are cool shots, Harry. I was always taught that if the bark is severed all the way around the tree or the tree loses its bark, that it will die. Makes me curious whether the tree is alive or dead.

It must be all that California sunshine. I still say eucalyptus trees are much darker than this.. Nice work my friend.

You know what they say..... their bark is worst then their bite. Great shots, sorry I am so late. I've been skimming in my short time home every night.
